The probiotic selection process starts by identifying host-specific bacteria which are also antibiotic compatible and temperature tolerant. Based on field studies, bacterial strains are selected for known synergistic effects and then micro-encapsulated for maximum shelf-life, stability and viability.

Feed and environmental components including but not limited to: moisture, temperature, minerals, acidic conditions (pH), bile salts and antimicrobial agents, may reduce viability of beneficial bacteria (probiotics) during storage, mixing and especially in prepared feeds or in the gut. 

Using advanced micro-encapsulation technology during manufacture, bacteria are protected by creating a physical barrier against a variety of ‘hostile’ physical and environmental agents until the bacteria reaches the intestine.
